This is the image for the news article titled NHS Students Give to Their School and CommunityThe National Honor Society is an active organization at PHS. Members work on group projects and participate in other service opportunities throughout the year. As a member of the National Honor Society, each student is required to complete a community service project. Several members of PHS have completed their individual service requirement for the year.

Tyler Carter, a PHS senior, met the requirement by building a new trophy case for the band room. This trophy case was very much needed due to the band’s outstanding competition season which resulted in an overflow of trophies and awards. The project took him approximately two months to complete. Tyler also used this project to earn his Eagle Scout ranking.

Haley Fields and Madi Eastwood have been busy raising money to offset hospital and care expenses for a woman in our community diagnosed with cancer. These ladies sold rubber wristbands for $3 each and raised over $300 to go towards the woman’s medical care.

All members of NHS are working to complete their service projects by the end of the school year, and we hope to feature more in the future.
