DECA is an award winning organization for emerging leaders and entrepreneurs who are preparing for careers in marketing, management, finance, and hospitality. The organization is involved in many community service projects throughout the school year and works with other organizations such as Union Mission, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Muscular Dystrophy, and Putnam County Animal Relief.

During the 2013-2014 school year, DECA earned a community service award presented by Ed Davis at the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta. Several conferences are offered throughout the school year including the Fall Leadership Conference and the State Career Development Conference. These conferences give DECA members opportunities to develop leadership skills, competitiveness, work ethic, career preparation, social skills, teamwork, and integrity.

For membership, it is preferred that students be in the Business/Marketing majors; however, any student in grades 9 through 12 may be a part of DECA. There is a $15 association fee.

The faculty sponsor is Mrs. Rhonda Null and she can be reached by email. You can also follow DECA on Twitter and Instagram @WVirginia_DECA.
