Welcome back to the 2026-27 school year! We are looking forward to another great year with our Poca Dots!
Here is a reminder of morning procedures:
* Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. Please do not drop off students before this time.
* Students are to enter the building immediately upon arrival. Do not remain in the parking lot.
* Driving students are to exit their vehicles immediately after parking and come into the building. Do not remain in cars or in the parking lot.
* All vehicles should enter the parking lot either from the stoplight or driving range entrance, and proceed around the circle by the football field if dropping off or parking in front of the library. First row parking and the area in front of the Auxiliary gym is reserved for staff.
* Students should be dropped off in the area in front of the library and main entrance. If you need to park, please use student parking in front of the library. Please follow the yellow arrows on the map when dropping off or picking up students. Do not go the opposite direction around any part of the parking circle!
* The warning bell rings at 8:00, at this time students may go to their lockers. Tardy bell rings at 8:05. All students should be in class ready to start their day by 8:05.
Spring cleaning? While you are de-cluttering, gather your gently used items and donate to Goodwill...the donation trailer will be at PHS May 17-24 and Goodwill will make a donation to our e-Sports club based on weight.

Upcoming Seniors (the Junior class) must have their Senior vaccines, a wellness check and dental check for their Senior year by August. The Family Care bus will be having a Senior Vaccine day on May 28th. Students may sign up in the main office. Be sure you have also completed the school-based health consent form.

This is a reminder for parents and seniors about our upcoming FAFSA Night on Monday, April 13th, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM in the school library.
Completing the FAFSA is an important step in securing financial aid for college, including grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities, and loans. Even if you are unsure about your plans, submitting the FAFSA keeps your options open and ensures you don’t miss out on available funding.
This will be the last opportunity this year to receive in-person assistance from a College Access Outreach Counselor from the Division of Financial Aid. They will be available to answer questions and help you complete your FAFSA.
Seniors—if you have not yet completed your FAFSA, please make every effort to attend this event.

Hanging senior banners around the town of Poca has been a tradition for many years now. In order to keep the tradition, students and parents are responsible for funding those banners. The town pays the fee to hang them, but we need parents/community members to help with the printing of those banners. The cost is $33 per banner, and you can reach out to Nichole Jones or Missy Harrison.

Due to the UPS plane crash in Louisville, KY, we have been informed that our transfers for the volleyball state tournament shirts will be delayed until at least Thursday. VETERANS: Please join Poca High School in celebrating your service to our nation on Friday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. for a ceremony featuring guest speaker, US Air Force Major William J. Bess, Retired (Poca High graduate Class of 1985) along with patriotic musical selections from the Poca High Marching Dots, Visual Volume Show Choir, and Rock Branch Elementary School Chorus. Following the presentation, all veterans are invited to join us for a homemade soup and salad luncheon. We hope all local veterans will join us for this special occasion honoring them!
